Yesterday, we had a workshop on how to make some designs for screen prints. We looked at some images from two different artists. The first artist we looked at was Pierre Et Gilles, whose works really represents "deifying" or "glorifying" something. As shown below, the pictures are covered in rosettes, crowns and tiaras etc. This was the general basis for the collages we were to make, to take inspiration from these images.

Then we went on to look at Andy Warhol screen prints, which were huge in the 1950s, and looked so great, and are now so famous! I've always loved these prints, I think they look really good, and found out they were so simple to do! The way that Warhol has lined them up perfectly is a great look, however when I get to do my screen-prints, I'd love to maybe play around with this and offset some of the work. So we made some collages, and then they need to be photocopied onto acetate, and put onto screens. The black parts of the image lets the most paint through. We haven't done the screen prints yet, but I can't wait to do them.
