I've nearly finished my fireplace, I did another layer of paper mache this morning, and it's drying out now and nearly ready to paint tomorrow. I'm really excited about how it looks, I'm going to paint it tomorrow with some white emulsion and I'll be able to highlight the detailing with some gold pen.
As for my other worry, my essay - the research I think I've mentioned was a little shaky on the internet, as all the sites seemed to focus on his life, and how his ailments propelled him into art, however I found a really good book in the college library which I think will be of some good use, it has lots of essays in, about Lautec's early work, his poster work and the works he did focusing on Parisian life. These are the three main things I'd like to focus on in my essay, of course, keeping in touch with why Lautrec fits into the modernism era. However, I can't loan out any books from the college library during half term! Argh! So as a last stitch attempt, I'm going to go to my local library and see if they've got any books there or not. If not, I can withdraw the book on Monday, and get started on my essay then, when I've read a little more about Lautrec.
